I come to area time to time and I always have to stop by this place. Their bologna is incredible and try to bring back as much as I can. Staff is incredibly friendly and even cut out specifics cuts of beef that aren't on the menu. Even all the frozen stuff are great. Just love this place.

Whenever visiting Lewistown, a pit stop at Wilson's Meats for some Lebanon Bologna, Olive Loaf and other groceries is mandatory. The butcher section will slice the meats and taking a few pounds home is always called for because Lebanon Bologna is hard to find in Oklahoma. And it's hard not to be tempted to buy Hartleys or Middleswarth Chips, Whoopie Pies, or other regional foods. Theres always folks shopping which is no surprise and they have a large selection of cheeses too.

Wilson's Meats has been a staple butcher shop & grocery store in the area for years. This small-town grocery store offers a variety of food staples in addition to homemade baked goods such as delicious whoopie pies. The focus of this review is on the butcher shop, which is a high-quality operation that is not found in most major chain stores. The butcher area offers a good selection of hand cut meats, homemade sausages, and everything else one would expect from a professional butcher! Don't expect mass produced and packaged meats here because their fresh cut meats and poultry are amazing! The main reason we drove out of our way to stop by Wilson's was for their homemade hotdogs! While eating at Shy Bear Brewing recently we loved the gourmet hotdogs they were serving. These hotdogs were plump, flavorful, and had that snap when biting that most mass-produced hotdogs do not have. When asked we were told that Wilson's Meats makes all their hotdogs for them! These hotdogs were the best I've ever eaten and we knew we MUST have these for our 4th of July picnic! If you want high quality meats and some of the best hotdogs around, stop by Wilson's Meats. Be sure to grab a few whoopie pies while you are there!

Wilson's is without question the best place to buy beef. The quality is, in my opinion, beyond all butcher shops and far beyond the large grocery stores. I am a regular customer and get either beef or their sausage on a daily basis. Small quantities for lunch or large for parties, I have received many compliments on the food purchased here. They make many prepared foods in store, pasta, potato, ham, tuna and egg salad to name a few. The subs, wraps and sandwiches are always top quality. A very nice place to fetch the best tasting, highest quality food. Their staff has always been pleasant and smiling.

You won't be disappointed. Great little meat/cheese shop! If there is something you don't see, just ask for it. Also Hungry Run wine and spirits is set up inside for a tasting. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Try the home made meat sticks and the apple sausage. If you need a ham loaf call ahead. There are usually frozen ones on stock too.

High quality meat at lower costs than pretty much anywhere around. The hamburg is awesome, I wouldn't buy it anywhere else. They say it's 85% lean but there is pretty no fat in it, it's more like 95% lean and so cheap. I have never bought anything from there I didn't love. I also get my lunch meat at Wilson's and it's cheaper than anywhere else. Best place to shop for meat in mifflin county by far.

This is, quite simply, the best country style grocery store in the area. From a great selection of local sweets to the superb selection of local meats, this is the standard in the Lewistown area. I refuse to buy hamburger from the corporate "giants" after shopping at Wilson's. You may pay more, but it is well worth it. Also, there is more to Wilson's than the butcher shop/deli counter. There is also the cheap candy box. In it, you will find all sorts of classic varieties of old school treats at a the prices you might have had as a kid. There are local treats such a whoopie pies and Asher's Peanut Butter eggs when in season. They carry local PA Dutch favorites such as homemade chicken corn soup. They also carry a great selection of local spices and salad dressings. The Wilson's own and operate this store themselves. In fact, you will see Steve back behind the deli counter quite regularly. Stop in, have a treat, and enjoy.

This is the ONLY place in Lewistown to buy meat! I refuse to buy the artificially red stuff at the Giant and wouldn't eat that gray mush at Walmart if my life depended on it. The burger is ground fresh, often while you watch. They'll cut your meat to order if you're looking for something that isn't in the display case. Prices on some things are actually better than what you'll pay in a big store. It may sound weird to go on and on about meat but once you try a quality product, you'll see the difference.
